For Business

Testimonials

Liquid Accounts is a god-send really for both accountants and businesses. It makes interaction between the accountant and the business director, far more immediate and pro-active. With Liquid Accounts, not only do you see the results minute by minute, the menus are straightforward and you can navigate your way round your business accounts effortlessly. To sum up, Liquid Accounts puts you in control of your business not the other way round! Richard White, IT Consultant

Liquid is helping us enormously. At the end of every month we have an accounting statement for the month that we know is at least 95% correct. Our accountant is also supposed to produce monthly management reports for us, but we haven’t had one for 2009 yet! If we didn’t have Liquid we’d be using Excel spreadsheets to keep track of everything but that’s unacceptable for a company with 15 employees – you can’t run a business like that! Liquid is tremendous value – in fact, if anything, it’s probably too cheap. I would expect a package with this sort of functionality to cost at least $100 per user and we’d be happy to pay $2-300 per month for 2 full users. We have 2 other girls who occasionally have to access the information as well, but we’d be happy with that sort of cost. Liquid was the only package that I could instantly start using and changing myself and I could see what I could do with it. Stefan Rask, Financial Director, StarSupply Renewables

It’s essential for a business to keep a constant finger on the money pulse and we believe that Liquid is the way to do it. Not only do we promote it in the Unit to businesses here, but we use it ourselves. Chrissie Slater, Incubator Manager

Knowing that someone is always at the end of a phone or an email if I have problems is one of the best things about Liquid Accounts. James Ussher-Smith, ProcessIt

You don’t need to have any formal bookkeeping training or experience to be able to use and understand it. And the best bit is being able to complete my VAT returns by one click of one button! Sarah Gathercole, Mosaic Virtual Office

Having originally developed accounting software for multi-site UK companies with a turnover of £2-20m, Liquid Accounts has evolved from Jon Wright’s work for these companies, so unlike many competing software as a service (SaaS) providers, Liquid Accounts has been scaled down for use by smaller companies – yet has all the additional functionality that much larger businesses may require, now or in future, and these can simply be added on and paid for, but only as and when needed. Looking at the feature list it is difficult to imagine a scenario where Liquid Accounts would be unable to meet a potential user’s needs. The HR tab gives access to a collection of documents such as employment and health and safety policies produced and maintained by HR specialists. Efforts have been made to use non-technical language – ‘money collected’ and ‘money to collect’ instead of receipts and debtors, ‘check my statements’ instead of bank reconciliation – although you can change this in the user setup section to revert to traditional accountancy speak. Different users in an organisation can have different menu titles to suit their needs. Nigel Harris, AccountingWEB

The team at Liquid Accounts are fantastic and provide a very high standard of customer care. I would definitely recommend their service and packages. Liquid has cut down the amount of time we have to spend on our accounts by about half, and our accountant can log in too. Liquid Accounts is a very user-friendly accountancy software package. It enables the end user to understand in simple terms exactly how efficient their business actually is. I hate doing accounts, I find it boring, but Liquid puts a bit of colour into it and makes it easier so that I don’t have to spend loads of time each day doing it. Michaela Begley, Director, Fit2Suit Ltd

For the MD of a company, the important thing is being able to forecast growth/trends and be pro-active. Liquid Accounts is superb for that! Providing up to the minute information really makes a difference. I would recommend it to other people – definitely! David Pierce, Commercial and Financial Director, Cobell

Liquid allowed us to run a second VAT number for Irish VAT, and also deal with things in Euros as well as Sterling which is something we hadn’t thought about initially. Also, the ability to move into job costing if we need to is another attraction. To have a package that can do these 3 things is brill – it can satisfy all our needs. Part of the attraction of working remotely is the option that one of the other directors can take a look at it if they want to. And if they’re in a meeting and there are questions asked or they need to check something, they can go online, bring it up, and show the position at the moment. I can answer questions immediately and don’t have to phone someone or go through bits of paper.’" John Whaites, MD, EcoHoardings Ltd

For clients who want to do their own bookkeeping, Liquid is much easier! They can do it, and let me know when they’ve finished, and I can log in and have a look. I would recommend Liquid to any small business who needs invoicing, VAT, petty cash. It’s spot on for any business within a year or two of starting up. Ian Bavill, Year End Accounting

Because Liquid Accounts started life as an enterprise system, it offers a depth of functionality that is unusual in online accounting systems, but this is cleverly concealed with a veneer of simplicity. Because Liquid Accounts has the potential to expand like a modular system, along with the business as it grows, it is scalable enough (in terms of features and concurrent users) for a broad range of business sizes and types to use, and charging for add-ons keeps the price competitive. Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales’, Guide to Online Accounting

Liquid has business advice within the application - an example of this is with HR information where a tab leads to a collection of documents such as employment and health and safety policies produced and maintained by a HR specialist. Ben Kepes, CloudAve.com

About Liquid Accounts

Who are Liquid Accounts?

Liquid Accounts are market leaders in online accounting software. We create jargon free, user-friendly business accounting software which is designed to save time, resources and money.

What differentiates us from our competition is our experience. We've been doing this since 2001, long before other online accounting companies and long before the idea of 'cloud accounting' or online bookkeeping software even existed.

Our knowledge of creating bespoke online accounts software for businesses of all shapes and sizes ideally positions us as experts and pioneers in this field, and has allowed us to create Liquid Accounts.

We have 3 Chartered Accountants on our Board (including Jon Wright, the brains behind our accountancy software). Our Chairman is an exited IT entrepreneur and our MD, Matt Holmes, is a recognised industry expert and the Chairman of the Cloud Computing Special Interest Group for BASDA (the Business Application Software Developers' Association).

In early 2010, Liquid raised over £3/4 million in investment with 40% coming from the Government's Aspire Fund for women-led businesses. This was due to the key role played by co-founder and Marketing Director, Lisa Kendrick.
